about
This is a very dark anti-racism song. Written after the murder of Ahmaud Arbery. I still feel a lot of anger about it and other incidents like it that happen so frequently. Some people you can never change, they just need to expire. They are the root of evil. Destroying an otherwise beautiful world. This song is my voice on the issue.
lyrics
I was born in this town, never found my way out
I'm the last of them homegrown fools
That look in my eyes it's a blank and hollow pride
These eyes they are watching you
Sworn to keep it like before, we don't mean to open doors
Not a lie, just a certain truth
With every passing day more of us fade away
We're the last of them homegrown fools
Pick the fruit
Kill the root
Forsaken man
Build my stack
Right off your back
I thank you friend
However it may change things always stay the same
Sun will rise and will set on my cue
As hard as you may try I'm that darkness underlying
And the last of them homegrown fools
Pick the fruit
Kill the root
Forsaken man
Build my stack
Right off your back
I thank you friend
